UPDATE: May 26, 2020

Dear saints,

With eager anticipation we have been wanting and waiting to gather together again in celebration of our sovereign God. We plan to open once again for worship as a body this Sunday, May 31, 2020—Pentecost Sunday, the birth of the Church…the Re-birth (?) of the Church.

Guidelines

Distancing — The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reversed their position on one point, stating that COVID-19 does not easily spread from surfaces or objects. Nevertheless, maintaining a 6ft distance from others (except for those with whom you live), and avoiding physical contact (hugging, hand shaking) is strongly recommended. Hand sanitizers will be provided; you may also want to bring your own.

Seating — We will be limiting the number of people to 25 in the auditorium at any one time. This number will increase in future days. We will be using every other row (those pews not to be used will be roped off), and ask individuals/ couples/ families sit with adequate distance between them and whomever may join them on the same pew. We will have seats in the overflow area as well.

Risks

Even with these measures in place we well understand that some may feel uncomfortable attending a public worship service at this point. We support your decision. For those comfortable to consider attending, we want you to be fully aware of what to expect.

•  Face masks — The best medical advice is to wear them to protect yourself and others. We might suggest (but not require) that you consider wearing a mask when you arrive, walk around inside, and as you leave. But after you are settled in your seat, if you feel comfortable doing so, you may choose to remove your mask. We leave that to your own discretion.

• Singing — We plan to sing in our worship. You may choose not to do so, but please be aware that others in the auditorium will be singing.

Plan

For at least the first two weeks, we are planning to have 2 worship services: one at 8:45am and one at 10:30am. Coffee, tea, and water will be available between the services. No food or beverage cups should be brought into the sanctuary.

Bulletins will be available, but will not be handed out. The sermon notes may be downloaded electronically from our website (www.ecchurch.com) prior to the beginning of the service. One individual in the bathroom at a time, please. The nursery will not be open; parents will need to be prepared to care for their children.

UPDATE: May 30, 2020

Enough of you have contacted us to fill up our 10:30 service. There are still some spots at the 8:45 service. If you would like to join us, please come to the 8:45 service if you would be adventurous.

This is an experiment to revitalize our corporate worship together …while staying within the 25 person limit …while maintaining “social distancing” space. We may have to shuffle a few things (or people) around. Please be patient with us as we try to figure this out too. If something does not quite work, the sermon will be available online by Sunday afternoon.

Eager to worship together,

Rob
